At Kebaonish, giving back has always been part of who we are.
This summer, we are honoured to announce our 2026 Give Back Summer Campaign in partnership with Kebaowek First Nation. From June through August 2026, Kebaonish will donate $2 from every bag of tea sold to support Anishinaabe culture and language revitalization initiatives within the community.
The campaign reflects Kebaonish’s ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous cultures, community wellbeing, and the preservation of language and traditional knowledge for future generations.
Funds raised through the campaign will help support important cultural initiatives currently underway in Kebaowek First Nation, including the community’s first Pow Wow, the creation of a traditional birch bark canoe, and preparations toward the opening of a new Cultural Centre in 2027.
“We’re proud to partner with Kebaonish for this year’s Give Back Summer Campaign,” said Justin Roy, Director of Economic Development for Kebaowek First Nation. “Supporting Anishinaabe culture and language revitalization is deeply important to our community, and initiatives like this help create meaningful opportunities for future generations. It also means a great deal to support one of our own community members, Dr. Shyra Barberstock, whose work through Kebaonish continues to uplift Indigenous cultures and create positive impact through business.”
Kebaonish co-founder and CEO Dr. Shyra Barberstock says the campaign is deeply personal.
“Kebaonish was founded on the idea of connection—connection to community, culture, and one another,” said Barberstock. “As a member of Kebaowek First Nation, it means a great deal to be able to give back to my home community in a meaningful way. Culture and language are at the heart of who we are as Indigenous Peoples, and we all have a role to play in supporting their revitalization for future generations.”
Here is a video from our founder Shyra, sharing the origins of Kebaonish .
The Give Back Summer Campaign will run from June 1 to August 31, 2026. Every bag of Kebaonish tea purchased during the campaign will directly contribute to these community initiatives.
Together, through something as simple as a cup of tea, we can help support culture, language, and community for generations to come.
